What a Facilitator Does
- Unconditionally loves and encourages small group participants. People are more receptive to spiritual truth when they have been loved. People want to know how much you care before they care how much you know.
- Hold the members accountable.
- Be a model of faithfulness. In Luke 6:40 we read, “Everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.” Facilitators must be faithful to always arrive early, pray consistently for your small group participants, know the memory verses fluently and have all assignments completed.
- Follow the Compass procedure of conducting the study. We’ve learned in thousands of small groups the most effective way to conduct this study, and your group will benefit doing it the proven way.
